Cumin Seeds

Definition:

Small, elongated seeds from the cumin plant (Cuminum cyminum), prized for their warm, earthy flavour with a subtle nuttiness and gentle spice. Widely used in Middle Eastern, Indian, and Latin American cooking, they enhance dishes such as curries, stews, rice, and spice blends. Cumin seeds can be used whole—often toasted to release their aroma—or ground, and have long been appreciated for their digestive properties.
