Super Spooky Family Fireworks, Abingdon Airfield, 30 Oct

A little firework preview before the main day, this low-noise, drive-in family friendly firework show takes place on the Halloween weekend. As well as the choreographed firework show, there will be hot grub, drinks, and a full-blown fairground. 4-9pm, £48 per car.

Abingdon Bonfire & Fireworks, Abingdon Airfield, 13 Nov 

The UK’s biggest public firework display, and not afraid to shout about it! Expect all sorts of whizz-bangs and pop-pops from the award-winning Illusion Fireworks Ltd, who have prepped a pyrotechnic powerhouse of synchronised lights and quarter-mile-wide firework displays. There’s also a low-noise show for little children at 6.45pm, a hot air balloon, a fairground, and more besides. £10 for adults, £5 for kids, £28 for a family ticket.

Oxford Fireworks, South Park, 6 Nov

Fireworks, funfair, bonfire, burgers; Oxford’s Round Table has all the bases covered for its 53rd celebration this year. Live music and local talent on JACKfm’s soundstage from 5pm and the rockets (by award-winning Illusion Fireworks, no less) from 6.45, followed by the lighting of the bumper bonfire. If you buy a VIP ticket, you can watch from the enclosure – proper posh! £8 for adults, £6 concessions, £4 kids, £20 VIP.

Thame Primary School Fireworks, Thame, 6 Nov

Organised by the 3 Thame Primary Schools: St Joseph’s, John Hampden, and Barley Hill, this locally-loved annual will take place this year at Chinnor RFC, 5-11.30pm. Tickets are £5.50 for adults and £3 for children.

Hanborough Fireworks, Long Hanborough, 5 Nov

Fancy a sing-along with your pyrotechnics? Then this musical firework display is the display for you. Synchronised with music, it promises to be a night full of bellowed lyrics — either a dream or a nightmare depending on what kind of person you are. The event will also include a fairground, BBQ, jacket potatoes, mulled wine and more. All proceeds go towards village charities; tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for children.

Fireworks & Bonfire Night, Queensford Lake, near Wallingford, 7 Nov

Gates open at 5pm with Hatwell’s Funfair, market stalls, and food from The Wandering Kitchen. The bonfire will start at 6pm, followed by a fireworks display courtesy of Illusion Fireworks at 7pm. Against the backdrop of the Queenford Lakes, this is set to be a stunner. £8 adults, £5 children, £20 family ticket.

Wallingford, 6 Nov

Annual bonfire night celebrations on the Kinecroft. Wallingford-based award-winning Illusion Fireworks are supplying the rockets with a special display timed to music, plus your usual hotdog and mulled wine stalls and Loose Cannon tents selling their beer. The celebration is at risk of not being able to continue for future years, so donations are extremely welcome.

Didcot Community Fireworks, Didcot Football Club, 8 Nov

Keep the weekend going with this Monday evening event, running 4-9pm. Family fairground, bonfire at 6pm, fireworks at 7.30pm, food and drink, and glowsticks-a-plenty. £5 entry.

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

Bonfire & Firework Display, Blackpit Farm, Stowe, 6 Nov

This Blackpit Brewery event is famous for its massive, wacky bonfires. Previous shapes have included a 10 metre space-rocket, a 12 metre hawk, and even a giant human head, lit by a theatrical torch procession. This year their firework display has been designed by the same team that do London’s NYE… impressive pyrotechnic credentials! Open from 1pm, the event includes children’s activities, street food and live music. Proceedings start just after 6:30. £19 for adults / £5 for children.

Long Crendon School Fireworks, Long Crendon, 6 Nov

This year the Long Crendon School PTA have splashed out and booked the team behind TV’s ‘Big Brother Live Final’ fireworks — who’d have thunk! Expect big-budget bangs and whistles, plenty of hot grub, a tombola, and the requisite bar. Starts at 4.45pm, fireworks at 6pm, tickets at £6 for adults and £4 for kids if you buy before the day.

Bonfire and Fireworks, Amersham, 6 Nov

To celebrate the opening of the new Scouts Jubilee Hall in Amersham, the 2nd Amersham on the Hill Scout group are hosting a giant bonfire and firework night, starting at 5pm with fireworks at 6.30pm. Hot food and drinks available, £10 for adults and £5 for kids.

Community Bonfire Night, Ashley Green, near Chesham, 5 Nov

A local favourite. Mulled wine for the grown ups, sparklers for the kids, and sausage rolls for all.

Newport Pagnell Fireworks, Milton Keynes, 5 Nov

Riverside Meadow will be lit up with plenty of colour and clamour this Bonfire Night from 5pm. There will also be a funfair and street food, with the fireworks set off at 7:30pm. The event is looking for volunteers, if you’re interested. Donations welcome.

Bletchley Rugby Club Fireworks, Milton Keynes, 6 Nov

Skies lit with fireworks, a children’s disco from 6.30-7.45pm, hot food, a bar, and a grown-up party until late — Bletchley Rugby Club know how to put on a do. Firework display starts at 8pm. Tickets £7 a person / £15 a family, or cheaper for BRUFC members.

THAT Firework Spectacular, Scots Club Bletchley, Milton Keynes, 14 Nov

Put on by the Henry Allen Trust, with all proceeds going to the charity. Fireworks, hot food, plenty of fun. Doors open at 4pm, with the fireworks at 6.30pm.

Big Bang Fireworks, Beaconsfield Cricket Club, Beaconsfield, 6 Nov

There’s a children’s bonfire from 5.30pm and a much larger bonfire for grown-ups at 7.15pm, as well as fireworks from 7pm and a funfair and live DJ. Tickets from £8.

Bonfire & Fireworks Night, Quainton, 6 Nov

A local favourite on the village green, this will include a traditional bonfire, fireworks, BBQ, beer and mulled wine. £5 a ticket, under-5s go free.

Marlow Monster Fireworks, Marlow Tennis Club, 6 Nov

Fireworks, hot food, a bar… what more could you want? 6-8.30pm, £8 for adults or £4 for children.

Burford School, Marlow Bottom, 2 Nov

The very popular and often sold-out Marlow Bottom Fireworks Extravaganza includes side shows, a bar, food, music and, of course, the amazing sky spectacular. Gates open at 5.30pm, with the fireworks kicking off from 7pm. Costs £7 for over-13s, £5 for under-13s, and £22 for a family.

Towcester Firework Frenzy, Northants, 5 Nov

Not far for people in North Bucks is a new event for 2021 at Towcester Racecourse, Northants. This is set to include silent fireworks, a laser display, live music, a free carnival, food stalls — and a kids’ costume competition with a £200 prize! [Competitive mums: activate]. Runs 6-10.30pm, tickets £19.95.

Tring Festival of Fire, Herts, 6 Nov

Tring Park Cricket Club hosts its annual Festival of Fire with local music acts, foodie trucks, drinks stall and a bonfire. Show starts at 7.15pm. Be warned: tickets are selling fast! £10 for an adult, £7 for a child, £22 for a family.
