Stocking everything from Cornish mackerel to pink grapefruit and pistachio cake, Worton Organic Garden is open Wed-Sun from 10am-4pm. Click and collect is available during open hours, and delivery Thurs – Sun between 4.30 and 7.30pm.
This sustainable, family-run farm shop are currently open (Thurs & Fri 11am-5.30pm and Sat 10am-2pm) and running a click and collect system for their organic produce and signature Ten Mile Veg boxes, which are packed with super-local crops grown right there on the farm. You’ll need to sign up to their mailing list to receive an order form on Tuesday and then be at home for a delivery on Thursday or Friday.
Top up your BBQ supplies with the excellent meat counter at award-winning butchers The Blue Texel (we hear great things about the homemade flavoured burgers), as well as picking up fresh bread and veg, local seasonal honey and chutney and cheeses from The Oxford Cheese company. You can even stock up on a local gin or vodka to wash it all down with.
Bicester locals can pick up meat and free-range eggs directly from the source at Park Farm, with plenty of pork, lamb and beef products available to pre-order and pick up on designated pop-up shop days (5 & 6 June and 3 & 4 July). Obviously, you’ll need to plan in advance for the meat, but eggs can be bought every day from the farm gate.
Recreate the Crazy Bear experience at home with their farm shop, which not only stocks meat and fish, cheese and veg, but also offers homemade pies, quiches and pasties as well as Thai curries and accompaniments. Open every day between 9am and 6pm, or you can order for delivery if you’re within a four-mile radius.
Though still only allowing one customer in the shop at a time, Dews Meadow Farm Shop is open for business Tues to Sat, 8.30am – 5pm. If you’re too time-strapped to wait, pre-order and collect or, if you live locally, delivery is free for orders over £50. Famous for their pork products, Dews Meadow also offer beef, chicken and lamb as well as groceries and frozen homemade pies & pasties.
Millets Farm is open 7 days a week (9am-5.30pm), and offers fruit and veg grown on the farm, as well as meat and fish, cheeses and truly excellent homemade cakes. Pop in or choose to click & collect any day Wed – Sat from 1.15pm-5.15pm.
The fruit-picking season isn’t quite upon us yet, but that doesn’t stop Oxfordshire’s Q Gardens capitalising on last year’s harvest – the farm’s apple juices are delicious. And there’s plenty of other seasonal stock to choose from. Pick up veg, bread, flour and cheeses, as well as homemade deli favourites such as quiches and Scotch eggs.
Less traditional farm shop and more produce delivery service, Produce Warriors is an indie family business that delivers boxes of fruit, veg and groceries within a 60-mile radius of Banbury – ideal if you’d rather support local than scrabble for an Ocado slot. Plus, all the packaging is 100% recycled, so there’s serious eco creds there too.
As well as running a bustling outdoor coffee bar, Blue Tin’s farm shop is open from 9am – 3pm Wed – Sat, selling an array of local products and handmade gifts. The big selling point is their delicious, ethical meats, from organically-raised rare breeds, but the baked goods on sale at the coffee bar are definitely not to be missed.
This is a double whammy, as not only is the excellent Farm Shop at Peterley Manor Farm open for business (both for in-person browsing and online orders), but so is their Wild Strawberry Cafe. That means you can pick up a weekly grocery shop and a slap-up afternoon tea or picnic hamper – result.
Originally opened in March 2020, the farm shop arm of popular South Bucks pub The Black Horse proved such a hit with locals that it’s still open for business today. Open every day from 8am to 6pm (4pm on Sundays), it offers fruit and veg, bread and pastries and dairy and meat. Anyone for a chilly BBQ?
You can’t get fresher than a dairy that specialises in raw milk, but it’s not all about the white stuff at this bijou farm shop. Expect plenty of delicious local meats, baked goods and wine, as well as essentials and produce like jams and chutneys.
A meat-eater’s haven, Chiltern Farm Food specialises in its own pork and lamb products. They even have their own shoot, which means that throughout the season you can pick up partridge, pheasants and ducks, as well as venison and rabbit. Visit the farm shop directly (Wed to Sat, check the website for opening hours) to stock up.
This family-run farm does what it says on the tin, providing their own eggs and meat as well as cheeses made from their own Guernsey milk. You can also pick up freshly-made bread, coffee and cakes, and boxes of essentials like fruit and veg. Visit from Tues to Fri 8.30am-5pm, Sat 8.30am-4pm, or Sun 9am-2pm.
The seasonal stock here is constantly changing, so you’ll need to pay them a visit to find out what’s available – handily, the shop is open daily. Expect delicious, locally-sourced essentials including fresh bread, meats and cheeses.
There’s so much on offer at this rural Bucks farm shop that you’ll be spoilt for choice. Pop in for a browse, or shop online and order in the basics to home-cooked ready meals, as well as excellent cuts from their butchery (what else would you expect from the winners of 2019’s Most Innovative Sausage?). Best of all, you can even book a slot for a freshly-made takeaway pizza.
Boycott Farm is open seven days a week but it also has a click & collect system should you not fancy close-quarters shopping. The shop sells plenty of local produce, including honey, bread and beers, but it’s the farm’s own stock that really shines. Make sure to nab some free-range eggs, Aberdeen Angus beef and some of their deli specials such as Scotch eggs and pies.
Kings Farm specialise in butchery first and foremost, so it’s no surprise that meat takes centre stage here. The farm shop also offers excellent ready-made boxes, including a Winter Warmer box, a Ploughman’s Deli box, and there’s a click & collect option, or free delivery if you’re within five miles of Wendover.
This South Bucks staple is open from Mon to Sat between 9am – 5pm, and on Sundays between 10am – 4pm. Nosy round the nursery for a bloom or two, or pick up a changing selection of tasty treats and every day staples from the farm shop. On Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays the shop enjoys a range of pop-up stalls from businesses like Jungs Bakery, Bucks Fish, and the No. 2 Pound St cheesemonger. You can order online for click and collect.
This small family-run business is all about putting farming first. This means being involved in the entire chain, from farm to fork — be it in the sausages and other meats available to buy for home-cooking, or the hot food served in their kitchen, open on weekends. The farm shop is open Tues – Fri from 10am – 6pm, and on weekends 10am – 4pm.
