Great news for Bicester locals – the county’s newest David Lloyd Club is headed your way, and it’s set to be a good’un. Designed with families in mind, the club not only looks mega-sleek (seriously, check out these designs), but it could be the secret to giving both you and the kids a much-needed wellness boost when it opens this autumn. Here’s what we’re most excited about.
I don’t know about you, but in my family, juggling everyone’s schedules and getting everywhere on time can feel nigh-on impossible. David Lloyd Bicester has built-in flexibility to solve the problem – like staggered class times, so you can drop your little darlings off at a kids activity like Scooter Squad before you hit a spin class that starts five minutes later, giving you time to settle rather than missing your warm-up and dashing in – or out again- red-faced.
There are also separate kids and adults zones in both the indoor and outdoor pools (yes, there’s an outdoor pool – and it’s heated!), so you can get on with your lane swim while the kids have splash fights well out of reach.
There are activities for the whole family …
If you can tear yourself away from the pools, you can hit the tennis courts for a little kids vs parents game, or try out a game of Padel – apparently it’s somewhere between tennis and squash, and is super popular in Europe. David Lloyd Bicester is only the third Club in the UK to have a dedicated Padel court, so you’ll be an early adopter.
There’s also a daily timetable of children-only activities, lead by the patient souls of the DL Kids team, with dedicated activity rooms and an outdoor play area for them to burn off steam.
… but others dedicated to grown-ups
Meanwhile, you can hit the shiny new boutique studios for the signature classes you’d expect from David Lloyd, including adrenaline-pumping HIIT classes like BLAZE or IGNITE, or more chilled-out workouts with yoga and Pilates-based SPIRIT.
The Spa Garden looks immense
Speaking of chilled, how’s this for a spa? This zen space is set to be one of the biggest draws of David Lloyd Bicester, and is definitely worth booking the kids in for a class while you escape to the Himalayan Salt Sauna, Crystal Steam Room, Ice Cave, Hydropool or the heated outdoor pool.
You can get some work done
Alas, we can’t spend all our time doing butterfly in the outdoor pool or smashing the kids at Padel. If you’re WFH or hybrid working, David Lloyd Bicester has an exclusive Clubroom and a business lounge perfectly set up for whipping out the laptop, so you can reply to emails or field a few Zoom calls before you hit the free weights.
Sound good? You’ll have to wait until Autumn to get inside, but sign up to the waitlist and you’ll get all the latest updates. See you in the pool!
